One of my missions on my recent trip back home to Wisconsin was to take family portraits of MY family. (We haven’t had formal ones done since Luke and my wedding 3 years ago.) You’d think that we would have taken some within those three years since we have 2 photographers in the family (my dad and I), but it just hasn’t happened. Even though we only had 45 minutes to take some photos, I think we did a pretty good job! Even my little brother had some fun (in front and behind the camera) who normally doesn’t like taking photos. I love my family so much and I’m so happy that we were able to get some great photos of all of us together. I know they wish we were home and miss a bunch, but they support our decision to be abroad and help us out as much as they can. I love you guys!

Even though my husband and I were only able to stop home for about 5 days, we were able to catch up with a bunch of our family members and friends. Staci graciously offered to help my dad and I out with hair and make-up for a lucky senior we took photos of and also ended up in front of my the camera! I’ve known Staci for about 20 years (gosh…that’s a long time)! We grew up together and even participated in Girl Scouts together. Staci is an amazing person and so fun to be around. I’m so glad I was able to reconnect with her. (She also happens to be an amazing beautician as well!)

On a recent trip back home, I had the opportunity to spend some quality time with my dad doing something we both love…taking photos! We had so much fun trying out some new techniques (even though a small storm ruined our plans for a sunset session). I hope someday my dad and I can do more photography like this together! A special thanks to this awesome senior for being our model!
